Career
Porter's modeling career flourished as she worked alongside industry icons such as Kimora Lee Simmons, Veronica Webb, and Naomi Campbell. She was signed to New York’s Wilhelmina Agency and featured on the covers of magazines like ‘Runway’ and ‘Essence’. Her work took her to exotic locations worldwide, including Ibiza, Paris, Brazil, Japan, St. Tropez, Italy, Bora Bora, Amsterdam, Africa, Monte Carlo, Dominican Republic, Anguilla, and Jamaica. She worked with major brands like Revlon, Coors, and Tommy Hilfiger.
In 2001, Porter made her acting debut in Gary Hardwick’s romantic drama ‘The Brothers’, playing a character credited as “Sandra the Temp.” She later appeared in the 2006 thriller-drama film ‘The System Within’ and had a recurring role as Violet Walker in the telenovela ‘Wicked Wicked Games’ (2006-07). Porter also starred in the 2011 musical drama ‘Mama I Want to Sing’ and made her final acting appearance in the pilot episode of VH1’s comedy series ‘Single Ladies’ as Jasmine.
Porter’s connection with Combs extended to her professional endeavors. She accompanied him to the 77th Annual Academy Awards and appeared on his VH1 reality show ‘I Want to Work for Diddy’ in 2008. In 2017, she co-produced the documentary ‘Can't Stop, Won't Stop: A Bad Boy Story’, which chronicles Combs’ rise to fame and his significant influence on hip hop. She also featured in the documentary.

Kim Porter was the daughter of Jake Kim Porter was the daughter of Jake and Sarah L. Porter. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1988 and moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in modeling and acting. Porter had two significant relationships in her life. She reportedly married American singer Albert Joseph Brown III (known as Al B. Sure!) from 1989 to 1990, though some sources claim they were never married. They had a son, Quincy Taylor Brown, born on June 4, 1991, who later became an actor and singer.
Porter began Porter began dating Sean Combs in 1994, and their son, Christian Casey Combs, was born on April 4, 1998. Combs also adopted Quincy. After a brief separation and Combs' highly publicized relationship with Jennifer Lopez, Porter and Combs reconciled in 2003. Their twin daughters, D'Lila Star Combs and Jessie James Combs, were born on December 21, 2006. The couple permanently separated in 2007 after Combs had another daughter, Chance, with Sarah Chapman in 2006.
Following her split from Combs, Porter led a relatively private life, focusing on raising her children and maintaining an active Instagram presence. Tragically, on November 15, 2018, she was found dead at her home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, after reportedly battling flu-like symptoms and pneumonia. She was 47 years old. Porter was buried in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia, shortly after her death.
